Experience
In addition to being a mother, I also have a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and have experience caring for newborns and their families from their very first moments together. This experience is key to providing a safe and relaxing atmosphere to capture the newness of your little one. I have also taken multiple in-person and online courses on newborn photography from international industry leaders that focus on the safety and handling of newborns while posing them. I believe ongoing education is an essential component of any profession and take several courses each year to grow my skills. Many of my images have won awards and several have been published in the Child Couture Magazine. I am also an ongoing member of PPA (Professional Photographers Association) which is the national industry organization for photographers. I am a member of the state affiliate, PPW (Professional Photographers of Washington), and have written several articles for their state member magazine. I am also currently serving on their Board of Directors as the Journal Editor. I am also a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) through PPA and an Accredited Portrait Master Photographer.
Community
At the heart of Pixie Dust Photography is service to the community, both personally and professionally. In the past I have served in various positions within the Boy Scouts of America, board positions for a non-profit preschool, and am currently serving as Board President of the Spokane Youth Symphony (SYS). I also donate my services as an organization photographer and produce a yearbook each year for SYS. Pixie Dust Photography also donates to various non-profit fundraising efforts throughout the year that align with our purpose. Who We Are
Pixie Dust Photography is a residential photography studio located in North Spokane, Washington. My name is Adelle Lines, and I am the photographer behind the camera. I specialize in photographing newborns during the first weeks of life, as well as milestones throughout the first year. I also photograph Maternity, Family, Seniors, and my personal favorite-Creative Children’s Sessions along with Fine Art Children Portraiture. Pixie Dust Photography began in 2010 in Alaska and has since relocated and opened its doors in Washington in 2017.
Why Newborn & Children’s Photography?
I am frequently asked why I photography newborns and children. As a mother of five children, I know first-hand how quickly babies grow and change. In the chaos of life, especially those early days and weeks, it’s hard to remember those tiny details. Looking back on the images captured in those first weeks bring back cherished memories that are not only loved by me, but by my children as well. As children grow and change, their individual personalities and imagination emerge. Capturing their imagination childhood “loves” (ex: dragons, unicorns, princesses, etc) is a fun experience and a treasured memento of a time that disappears far too quickly.
