The Milestone Session Experience
The first year of a child’s life is all about marking milestone achievements - baby sitting up, baby’s first tooth, baby’s first word, baby’s first steps, etc. Parents often ask when are the best times to photograph their child during this first year. We recommend around six months (when baby is sitting unsupported) and around a year (when baby is standing or taking just a few steps on their own). Every child hits these milestones at different times, so generally we focus on the milestone achievement over a set age. Because each child is growing at their own pace, we always take the situation of each child into consideration when scheduling a portrait session. The consultation in critical in developing an appropriate and safe and fun session for wherever a child is on the growing spectrum. Milestone sessions also go beyond one year of age. Older milestone sessions can include yearly birthday sessions, or special achievements that you want to document and celebrate. These sessions are great for incorporating the child’s interests and celebrating their unique personality.
Milestone Sessions usually last about an hour.
Approximately two weeks after your session, you will return to the studio to view and place your order. After your order is placed and arrives from our vendors, we will arrange delivery of your portrait products. We know these images are valuable and only use the very best products to preserve these memories. All of our portrait products come with a Lifetime Warranty.
The Baby Plan
The first year with a new baby goes by so quickly. There are lots of moving parts and not a lot of sleep. The Baby Plan takes one more thing off your plate. You no longer need to remember to schedule a portrait session-we remember for you. About six weeks before your child may hit their next milestone (sitting or standing), we contact you to set up your next session. There is a quick consultation to make any needed adjustments to color and/or themes. All three sessions (Newborn, Sitter, and One Year) usually have a cohesive color palatte so all your images from the first year coordinate together. The Baby Plan covers the session fees, a portrait credit for each session, and culminates with a complimentary folio album with one art print from each of the three sessions to celebrate a year of growth and beautiful memories. The Baby Plan can be added at the time of the Newborn Session. Please contact us with any questions.
